Digitized Treasures

[www.meretsegerbooks.com] :
about 100
of the rarest books have now been digitized and can be read as easily
as flipping books. They include such pearls as the Description de
l’Egypte or the Gau on Nubia, and lesser known items such as works by
d’Athanasi or Young’s Hieroglyphics.

On Egypt in Pictures
[www.meretsegerbooks.com]
you’ll find
15,000 photos on most sites of Egypt, arranged in galleries from South
to North. This is a fun and easy easy way to familiarize yourself with
the archaeological geography of Egypt. Photos are cross-matched with
the books, so if you look at a book on, say, the Temple of Luxor,
photos of the corresponding archaeological site are automatically
suggested. Vice versa, looking at photos of the temple gives linkage
to related books.

One of those photo galleries is called Egyptologists and Travelers
[www.meretsegerbooks.com].

Its aim is to put faces on all those famous authors known by name. The
photos mostly come from books (Festschriften or other sources), but
also include valuable contributions from the Griffith Institute and
from the Peggy Joy Library.
