Hi,

I forgot to mention that a considerable collection of historic local and regional
newspapers is online as scanned and searchable digital files in "The Portal
to Texas History" at [texashistory.unt.edu]

For example, the Houston Post. (Houston, Tex.), Vol. 28, Ed. 1 Sunday,
October 12, 1913, has a lengthy article about inferno that resulted in
the abandonment and scuttling of the S S.Volturno. [texashistory.unt.edu]
and [texashistory.unt.edu]

On page 6 of the same issue, there is an article, "Radium used as cure for
cancer." Also, the advertisements and prices are interesting.

Yours,

Paul H.
