The repetition of the word djed in a number of personal and place names in the well known tale fromthe papyrus Westcar, and its narrative development point to a deliberate and meaningfulparallelism withthe ceremony of “rising the djed-pillar” and its connotations. Some circumstances in the court of Khufu seem to provide a historical context.
