Thousands of feet below the water’s surface lies a world largely unexplored by humans. Colorful sea creatures, fish large and small, anemones, and unfamiliar sea plants fill the ocean and its floor. These are what we might expect from these depths. What we don’t normally expect is silver, tea sets, chinaware, pottery. Where do these come from? From shipwrecks, of course. And who finds them? A specialized team of professional treasure-hunters, Odyssey Marine Exploration makes it their job to search for, find, and recover the many treasures that may lay hidden in the depths of the ocean. Their job and their findings are currently on display for all of New York to see as part of the new exhibition at the Discovery Times Square Exhibition Center, SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure.
