Here is a Starry Night pic of the sun rising over Caral pyramids - Peru (hasn't happened yet). UT is 10:45 am, and local 5:45 am. As we can see the central belt star of Orion aligns perfectly with the horizon.
The second icon is from Thebes - Boeotia - same time , local time 12:45 pm. As one can see in the bottom right the Moon is right on the horizon rising.
What exactly did the great ancestors of the Maya have in mind?
