Hello Post

This is running at another site...... would like some of your feed back.

From an interview with Robert Temple..

the following points and reflections..

Sphinxy's body does not have a lions tail...there is no "Tuft" at the end.
The back is straight..and not Leoine.

The "Haunches" are wrong if it is a lion..but right if it is representing a dog.

The forelegs and paws..reflect a dogs posture and exstension...upper
chest the same.

The 3 pyramids at Giza are generally accepted as being part of the
"Anubis" cult.

Anubis is linked to death, cemetaries and embalming..
He is also involved in the Osiris legend..the Pharonic transferrence
in the "Opener of the Way" cerimony.

It seems to me that a crouching "Anubis" best represents a guardian for the Plateau.

The body may not have had a Jackal head though..the Pharaoh may
have used His own...the symbol of Anubis is also linked to Osiris thru
"Sonship/inheritance...

So the Son of Osiris guards the Plareau.

From my perspective...the body looks like a dog..
the head may never have been carved to that of a Jackal..but is
most likely the Pharaohs representation...
I think He was making the statement...

I am the Son of Osiris..I am the Guardian for the Living and the dead..

What are your thoughts?
