<HTML>Hi Duncan,

The fact that we can shout at each other in the first place is one that is all too easily taken for granted. Its easy to forget that most citizens of planet Earth do not have the freedom, let alone the means, to add their voices to the cacophony.

If we are to fight a war in the name of free and democratic civilisation then surely we will have lost that war if we fail to deliver freedom and democracy to those who do not have it.

Sanctions and the threat of military force against all undemocratic regimes anyone? Or would that just be warmed over Western cultural imperialism?

Regards,

Derek</HTML>
