<HTML>Arafat really has been impressing me lately. His shock and horror over the WTC bombings truly seemed sincere. I am begining to believe that he really is "a man we can work with" and that his desire to be a man of peace is genuine.
His orders to not return fire even in self defence are SHOCKING! I would never have expected such a bold move.
This is a day of hope. It remains to be seen how the Isrealies will behave. The world should expect nothing less from them.
(But will the Palistinian radicals heed Arafat's request? Even if they don't, Isreal had better show massive restraint or the World will turn against them)
Arafat's remarks as quoted in this paper are astonishing. Astonishing.
Prhaps 6000 did not die in vain. We can only hope. :-(
