The question about the women of the UAE is less rhetorical than genuinely inquisitive. The statistic jumped out at me while perusing the CIA World Factbook link that James Keogh provided in an earlier message.
In looking again I noticed that there are over 1.5 million non-nationals listed in the population statistics so your point about immigrant labor is the obvious answer.
