Skulls and lamps found in the Twins Cave in the Jerusalem Hills indicate that the cave was used for necromancy rituals, according to a study that was published last week.
Necromancy is the practice of speaking to or reviving the dead.
The study, which was published in the peer-reviewed Harvard Theological Review, detailed and analyzed the archaeological finds of about 120 well-preserved lampsvbg and a collection of coins dating to the Late Roman and Early Byzantine eras (second to fourth centuries CE).
