"In Fingerprints of the Gods (1995), Hancock hypothesizes that the demise of the mammoths
and other megafauna was caused by a catastrophic cataclysm brought on through
an Earth Crustal Displacement. The result was that "terrible forces were unleashed on all living creatures during the last Ice Age" and that "the northern regions of Alaska
and Siberia appear to have been the worst hit by the murderous upheavals between
13,000 and 11,000 years ago. In a great swathe of death around the edge of the Artic
Circle the remains of uncountable numbers of large animals have been found –
including many carcasses with the flesh still intact, and astonishing quantities of
perfectly preserved mammoth tusks" (Hancock 1995: 212, 213)."

Hancock: "All archaeologists admit this now, that Clovis-First was a mistake, they got it
completely wrong. […] but what they don’t comment on is the careers that were ruined
as a result. […] So when archaeologists of that type say “Hancock is a pseudoscientist,”
I say “Hang on a minute, you guys are the pseudoscientists.
You guys sold us Clovis-First for 50 years."

"I already knew Hancock was going to going to claim that a comet wiped out some kind of fantastical "advanced civilization" that existed during the Ice Age, and I already knew that he would try to connect his claim to the archaeology of North America in whatever ways possible. I predict anyone who has any legitimate expertise in this region of the world can see through Hancock's game in two seconds. I guess if you're blissfully ignorant maybe it all sounds very exciting . . . I wouldn't know: as someone who has been doing real archaeology in North America for 25 years now I can hear the sound of this book ringing hollow before I even crack the cover."

To sum up the above: In Fingerprints of the Gods, Earth Crustal Displacement wiped out the megafauna. In America Before (2019), a comet wiped out the mega fauna.
IOW, Hancock sold us Earth Crustal Displacement for 24 years.
