I see it all as a form of low comedy. I have watched over the years as the fringe wrestled with the elephant in the room - the total lack of evidence for what I call the 'invisible' civilization.

They have to place it somewhere where it is logical for it to not be found - like the bottom of the sea, under Antarctica/Greenland, just off the coastlines - but all these tend to fail as science doesn't allow them to put them there. Another way is to somehow destroy them like Pompeii - a good idea but tough when you insist they was a world wide civilization.

I feel deeply for their plight the easy way of course is just to say they came from another dimension but that is always to sci-fi.
