Excellent link! I thoroughly enjoyed the Frozen Echo. However the reviewer didn't mention much about the Cod Wars and how the fish was preserved for transport back to England. One method, called 'stockfish' [
en.wikipedia.org] was air dried. This would take several days/weeks and not be very practical on the small fishing boats. Thus a shore base would be required with a staff to dress the fresh fish, place the meat on drying racks and protect it from predators. Good employment opportunity for people adapted to the climate.
