I personally think it's high time for the folks in Nashville to claim that the Greeks came over to build a second Parthenon, for tourist cash is the very reason it exists in Nashville.

But gosh-darn it, at least the Nashville folks are honest about its Parthenon origins: the city fathers originally built it in 1897 for the Tennessee Centennial Exposition (the Athena statue was created in 1990, which was finally gilded in 2002). It's a darned good replica, and today it houses their museum, which brings in cash, which was the point of building it...
