Howdy Ronald
There are large numbers of people who still believe in Sitchin although there are also a large number that have taken to dropping some of his more silly pieces of theory and have reshaped other bits, into new versions of the story.
I've been dealing with Sitchinite's for several decades and it is my observation that the interest in him and his stoires have waned over the last five years.
That was the good news, the bad news is that new authors have taken his place. Many citing him as an expert to support their own claims!
Marduk and I were just discussing Sitchin on another board, certain members of said board couldn't make themselves believe that Sitchin would blatantly state incorrect information on his website. What we were discussing was Baalbek and Sitchin website says,
...ruins stand atop a platform that rose even higher by rows of perfectly shaped stone blocks weighing some 600 tons each. (Fig. 3); this is a weight that no existing modern equipment can lift.
Obviously modern cranes can lift 600 tons. However the Sitchinites wouldn't/couldn't believe this.
