Uhmm... only the megafauna at the end of the Ice Age.
The one he was talking about occurs in the Permian-Triassic extinction, which was some 250 million years ago. There've been (if memory serves) five great extinction events. The K/T one (60 million years ago) with the asteroid is the most famous, but the P/T one was the most widespread. Either as a result or as part of the phenomina, much of the world "rusted" into what we call "red beds." Places with red sand contain material from this time when 95% of the lifeforms died.
