So far, nobody's presented any credible evidence of this.
Compare them to, say, the Mayans/Incans (definately star-obsessed) and Babylonians/Sumerians. In those civilizations, we find documents (stone and other) that show the movement of the planets and stars -- tables that are fairly accurate even today. We also find good calendars that retain their accuracy for a long period of time.
They also had observatories.
Now, my knowledge of Egypt is not all-encompanssing... so I'd appreciate your pointing out the observatories that I've missed and the documents of tables of celestial objects. And the accurate calendar, as well. All the sites I know of say that their calendars regularly had to be adjusted, but I'm not that up on the topic.
Anyway, Inquiring Minds would appreciate some evidence.
