Here's a wild thought that is probably beyond preposterous but still fun to consider:

What if the myths of "advanced beings", such as Atlanteans, actually stem back to this time, 30,000 years ago, when modern humans met with and "absorbed" Neandertals? We are remembering it from the Neandertal perspective, however... Or, to put it more succinctly, we are the advanced beings.

Weird, unprovable and incredibly farfetched... but a neat little diddy nonetheless.
