I've come across the following statement in a fringe book:

..The character of Anubis is synonymous with the Mesoamerican dog-headed god called Xolotl. Xolotl is know as the divine dog and, as with Anubis, has a counterpart, a twin or double: Quetzalcoatl who represents Venus the morning star.....

Any comments on what they may be referring to?
