The Giza area was once underwater like a lot of places were in our deep deep past ... the ocean used to come up to about a mile from where I live in central Alabama. We find all sorts of things in the rocks here ... matter of fact the Selma Alabama area (about 23 miles southwest of me) is internationally famous for fossil hunters due to this reason.
