Hi Hans,

It's an odd use - althopugh we talk about "ancient" societies and peoples the only sensible use of "ancient humans" seems to be when refering to archaic H. sapiens. The use of the sacking of Rome as a delineating event seems pretty arbitary - it would also make Theodosius II, Byzantine Emperor at the time - as well as all the Huns, both ancient and modern human beings smiling smiley

God is our guide! from field, from wave, From plough, from anvil, and from loom; We come, our country's rights to save, And speak a tyrant faction's doom: We raise the watch-word liberty; We will, we will,we will be free!
