if the date and the place of origin is accurate, this is also about the time that the Scythians and the Proto Celts were rampaging around in the same general area, as well as entering into greek lands.

Im still trying to find the Linquistic root for Denyen, from I have found it links to Dan, which means river, flow in IE. which has been linked repeatedly to Proto Celtic Tribes.

the Cimmerians a Celtic Tribe were known to hire out as mercs, and it seems to have been a Celtic and scythian Custom to do that. another side note... the Proto Celts and the Scythians were reported to have been competent sailors and ship builders.

anyway its not that far fetched an Idea to think that some of the Sea Peoples were Proto celts.
