Won't go back that far either. Try Skychart III, a 3Mb demo is available from www.southernstars.com I think.

Having said that, if you zoom up close on Regulus and nearby Rho Leonis, and lock your view on that star, and then precess back as far as you can in 100 year intervals, you can actually see both stars start to move in relation to the ecliptic.
