Firebird was renamed Firefox. It uses the Gecko engine that was I think first in Netscape 6. It doesn't have lots of bells and whistles but does have lots of plugins that give it bells and whistles (and one of them today had me with a browser that had no menu, no toolbars, nothing except the last webpage I'd used -- except that it did have my Roboform tool bar which allowed me to launch a new window.
Both Opera and Firefox are tabbed browsers, so you can keep a number of pagesopen in one instance of the browser and just move between pages.
