I was taking a break from writing a paper and
found the below statement published in a
newspaper:

"Their oldest pieces are fossils that are about
500 million years old. Their collection includes
dinosaur eggs and a woolly mammoth tusk that
are from the Cambrian and Precambrian eras."

From "Ancient artifacts for sale" as published in
the Nov. 11, 2004, Belleville News-Democrat, IL
[www.belleville.com]

This is one reason I take anything published about
science published in newspapers with great skepticism.
It is impossible to tell whether the reporter or
the people, who provided him the information, is
at fault here. However, the reporter should have
noted something funny about this sentence.
