David Cross asked: 'does anybody out there know anything about this (Tut's brother) cause i can find it. please help me'

I suspect he has no idea just how complicated a question this is winking smiley The answer depends on who you think Tut's parents were, and who you think is buried in KV 55.

The male body in KV 55 is suposedly so similar to Tut's remains as to make them close relatives; either father and son or brothers. The majority opinion holds the man in KV 55 died in his early twenties - which would make him Smenkhkara and Tut's brother. But a few claim that the body is about a decade older and that of Akhenaten himself which would make him Tut's father - presumably by a wife other than Nefertiti.

On the other hand Tut was buried with a solid gold figurine of Amenhotep III and a lock of Queen Tiye's hair. Many Egyptologists have interpreted this to mean Amenhotep and Tiye were his parents.

Then there are the more exotic variations that propose Tut is Amenhotep's son by a lesser queen, possibly his daughter/wife Sitamon, or even Tiye's son by Akhenaten!

And on top of all that there is the question of whether there was one 'Smenkhkara' or two and if one was Nefertiti in drag!

Welcome to the Amarna Swamp!!!

To answer David's question: If Tut was the son of Amenhotep III and/or Tiye he would have had at least two brothers; Thutmose IV, the crown prince who predeceased Amenhotep, and Amenhotep IV/ Akhenaten. And a possible third brother in Smenkhkara.

If Tut was the son of Akhenaten he would have had six sisters. Smenkhkara might have been his elder brother - assuming that the successor of Akhenaten was male he would certainly have been a King's son to take precedence over Tut.

Fascinatingly there is the possibility of yet another brother. Among the relics in Tut's tomb was a whip inscribed to the 'King's Son and Commander of Troops Thutmose'. Now this prince is usually identified with Thutmose IV, the crown prince who would have been long dead by the time of Tut's burial. However that Thutmose's recorded titles are all priestly *not* military. Are we dealing with two Prince Thutmoses? One a contemporary and possible brother of Tut?
