<HTML>I'm reading a history of Polynesia, and the author of "Island Civilizations of Polynesia," Robert Suggs, says that the great stone statues of the island date to the second half of the seventeenth century. If that's true, how can alternative authors claim the place as a vestige of a lost civilization (or worse, as an alien outpost) if its allegedly enigmatic Moai are more recent than Shakespeare?

Unless Shakespeare was an Atlantean, too!
