Dear Bernard, you aren't the only one. There are
times with my Macintosh where I unknowingly press
the wrong key and whatever I am working on
vanishes into ether just when I had forgotten to
back it up. At that time, its Ooooh Noooo Mr. Bill,
Oooooh Noooo. Also, I have my own extremely
frustration times in figuring out how configure
different bits of software. ARCGIS had me cussing
out my PC at work.
What kills me, is my wife Irina, who never operated
a computer until she came to the US about three+
years ago, just loves computers and has them
"feeding" out of her hands and doing their tricks
for her like well trained show dogs. Where she
worked before, as a Medical Technologist, her
hospital did all of the blood and other analysis
by hand and prepared reports by typewriters and
submitted everything by hand on paper. Once in
the US, she gone in a short period of time from
that to using computers to conduct automatic blood
and tissue analysis; cataloge specimens; preparing
reports; submitting results electonically to
doctors; and so forth. She still does manual
analysis occasionally for special tests and
double checking / verifying questionable results
from the machines. In fact, at work, by herself,
she also now does the normal maintance of the
machines that Medical Technician have to do. This
has happened in the space of less than 2 years.
Some people have it, some people don't. I don't for sure.
Best Regards,
