I once saw something like this during a nasty rain/ice storm in New Hampshire (1992). When the weather finally cleared 3 days later, there were more military helicopters in the air than you could count.
Turns out an ICBM test off the coast of Maine went a little screwy, and they detonated the sucker and it landed about 5 miles from my HOUSE!
Police lines were flooded... many of us reporting the exact same phenomenon. No press coverage for that one, though... who wants to tell the American people that we occasionally misfire ICBM's off the coast?
