I come to praise Garrett, not to roast him.
He speaks of a condition within the human heart that struggles to understand nature.
His motives are honorable and true. Not devisive and evil.
He is an honorable man whose intentions are to enlighten , not diminish by scandal and acrimony.
Thrice I have offered him a princely crown of knowledge. Thrice he has turned it down.
Because he is an honorable man. A man true to his friends and profession.
I take this occasion to compliment him on his honesty and bravery. A bravery that would have him and his friends and profession exposed to the scrutiny of objective science.
A bravery that is borne or true ethics and intellect. For how many of us in this audience would put themselves and their friends at risk of having the underpinnings of their discipline exposed as pseudoscience?
I beg you to lend Garrett your ears.... But take them back and give them to me when it is my turn to speak.</HTML>
