Further to David's question and Anthony's response, yes, the dating method deals exclusively with quartz. Oolitic limestone does contain quartz, but the common limestone found in Mediterranean countries, and the one used for the pyramids, is nummulitic (which is the one David is asking about) -- made of of course nummulites.
What I'm not sure about is what date you'd get in any case, a date for when the blocks were cut? I need to read the reports more closely.
There are marly limestones (containing quartz sand) at Giza, <a href="[
www.hallofmaat.com] A. Harrell's article here</a> mentions them, but I doubt that the method would date anything useful or even perhaps accurately in this context.
