Firstly, thanks to the moderators for providing another outlet for my anti-Hancockian rantings (and one less concerned with things 'spiritual', I'm glad to see...).
I thought that Brits on the board might be interested to hear that GH and RB are 'performing' at the Edinburgh Book Festival (part of the city's arts festival) in late August this year (I assume to promote the Underworld instalment of the LC fantasy cycle). I hope to persuade some of my archaeologist friends to come along and engage them in polite debate (I've moved out of professional archaeology myself, and decided to earn money instead...).
In a city with a world-renowned school of archaeology (V G Childe was the Abercromby Professor at Edinburgh), I think that it is the duty of the current crop of Edinburgh academians to challenge the LC view, and its consequences for prehistoric archaeology (and the archaeological method in general); I'm hoping to encourage some of my old lecturers to come along and hear what GH and RB have to say.
Hope to see some of you there...
