I think what he's trying to explain in an oblique way is... if you took the equivalent numbers to the letters in the surnames of w.m. flinders Petrie and Piazza Smyth and added them together, the result would equal the sum of the ages of all the members of Menuto in any given year... While researching at the Sackler Library the other day, I came across a great paper published in 2015 written by Miroslav Verner "The Remarkable Rise of the Fifth Dynasty - the story of Papyrus Westcar and historical evidence" (p.86 - 92 PES XV / 2015). ummm, not that I'm aware of... when they built the Apollo space craft I don't think they used pi for volume of the capsule or the interior space. My guess is anytime you make a sphere from a measurement like volume your going to get some intrinsic reduction related to pi, as a natural byproduct. The assumption: the coffer/sarcophagus was built to be interned in G1. Problem is it won't fit through any passages leading to the chamber it is found in, I.E.S. Edwards put forward the suggestion that perhaps the original was lost in a boat accident in transport... and the one in the chamber was a hastily built substitute placed there before the roofing stones were set. Hi Hans, Wood, as we have seen was widely used in the first 6-7 dynasties, especially in burials. Now a reasonable person would accept that as they cleared away the Giza plateau, emptied out older mastabas and tombs to make way for the 4th dynasty, and if they came across suitable pieces of wood they would either use them (repurpose) like beams and such or perhaps planks... coffins I'm noby Pistol - Ancient Egypt
Hi Chris, There are some elements in his paper which are valid, for example the c14 data and probabilities do bring into question many broad assumptions, that said as you probably already know, I believe there were 3 epochs of royal burial at Giza, rather than get into the details here, I would just say that re-using the plateau from pre-history and throughout Egypts history was common. As you said it was not my intention to enlighten you to pyramidion inscriptions supporting the duality of Re in the circumpolar stars, never the less your very welcome. I'm grateful for your commentary on the topic, as well those of Mr. Tedder... All good points to consider, though because the texts constantly refer to the horizon and the god of the horizon I’m inclined to believe the winged solar disc would face east because of the rebirth aspect. Best, B.A.Hokomby Pistol - Ancient Egypt
Something has always bugged me after reading M. Lehner's translation of Amenemhet III's pyramidion...(TCP p.34) Lehner: "...On one of it's faces is a winged sun disk in relief. Im not sure about those reads, I think I read a few pages and got lost. Hemiunu does have a large mastaba, to suggest it's encoded with measurement ratios found in G1 is a bit of a stretch, even if it were true what would we gain with such knowledge? B.A.Hokomby Pistol - Ancient Egypt
Hmmm, He must have had relations with Huni/Snefuru. Seems at the highest level "the greatest of seers" of Iunu from at least Djoser on, all royal pyramids are directly associated with Iunu, B.A.Hokomby Pistol - Ancient Egypt
