It isn’t very often that a theory comes along that one single piece of evidence, one tiny little detail, can destroy the entire thesis.
But here is one of them.
In a nutshell, the author asserts that the pyramids were built centuries earlier over many generations for purposes unknown. This single sentence sums up what the author wishes were true, so that he could proceed with his basele

Petrie was 2.3-2.5 million blocks.
Hawass quickly voiced his rebuttal to my RtS article just a month or so after I published. It had no methodology, science, or documentation to support it, as I recall, merely stating he had some students count the blocks on the outside.
I just found the only reference I could to it, and although I am loathe to use Schoch as a citation for anything, thi

Good work by Jason.
I’d also like to posit the idea that you cease being a true skeptic the moment you have your own theory to advance. When you have a dog in the race, you are no longer an impartial judge.
(On a side note, I discovered a few years ago that Bob Bianchi and I are nearly neighbors. What a library he has!!!)

It starts with a Forward by Chris Dunn (yellow alert) then goes on to suggest Hawass’s ludicrous count of 750,000 blocks is the most current.
Do I have to read any further?

Here’s the gem from that article. It had never occurred to me to look deeply into the magical meaning of colors. I only looked at sources!
“Black is also the colour associated with the alluvial silt deposited on the banks of the River Nile after the annual flood receded. Since this fresh and fertile soil provided the ideal environment in which seeds for crops could germinate and grow, it was v

Once again we see someone proposing a theory about what could be, rather than looking at cultural evidence to document a theory about what should be.
There’s nothing like pulling from completely different chapters of The Histories and mashing them together as if they were written in the same paragraph. And then asserting the theory solves problems for which we have no evidence of their existen

Is it wrong for me to absolutely loathe al-Maqrizi?
It looks like he started the whole “these aren’t really tombs“ argument over a thousand years ago.
It makes our little contributions feel so much tinier to know that we are just soldiers in a battle, in a war, that has been going on for over a millennium.

It appears to be strictly Amazon-based, and I won’t buy anything from Amazon. I have found another site that is selling the PDF called Quickorange. Is that legit? Or are they bootlegging the book?

Honestly, reading Faegan’s review gave me a PTSD episode, as I relived every other book Hancock has ever regurgi... er, I mean... penned.
I actually had someone yesterday on Facebook asked me if I’d ever read any of Hancock‘s work because I would find it fascinating. Oh, it was difficult finding anything to say that didn’t blow up our IRL friendship. He also mentioned someone named Carlson. I

Poldark!
I was just listening to the soundtrack yesterday and can’t WAIT for the next season! Although it is a bittersweet feeling, as it is also the last season.
There are twelve books. It’s not fair!

You nailed it! The thing is, history IS interesting! These are REAL people, but it takes REAL talent to be able to tell their stories in a fashion that people who are raised on action movies and reality TV will find interesting.
In fact,it is the BEST form of reality TV, if you ask me!

QuoteAs always with his books it contains some new ideas plus a revised analysis of previous ones.
The good thing about them is that they stimulate thinking even though many people may not agree with some of the ideas.
You are being extremely generous... in fact, probably too generous, unless in my absence, Bauval has recanted virtually ALL of his previous work, and has published an entirel

I figured that was what you meant. I don't know of any cases where someone TOOK the name of a king as an adult. The only people who really changed names WERE kings, correct? Based on existing evidence, of course. Obviously we can't categorically state a negative like that.
