I've been visiting Wiltshire during the summer months for several decades now ... how come I never get to see any balls of light hovering interestingly above the ground ?? I feel very deprived ...by Hermione - Coffee Shop

Yes ... I've got Markoe, too, but I didn't feel up to the task of copying out entire paragraphs like Damian did ... I suppose one might have scanned them in (unfortunately, my scanner is feeling elderly and fractious these days, so wouldn't have been up to the task either) ...by Hermione - Ancient History
Having looked at the map, it seems to me that Shiprock and Window Rock are an awfully long way from anywhere that I went when I was in NM ... we got as far as St. John's, Arizona (we were looking for a place known as Zuni Heaven (although IIRC Zuni was the Spanish name bestowed on that particular Native American tribe - I can't remember what their real name was). (Well, I tend not to be very keen on Wikipedia, as a rule ... I would usually try and check what it says against other sources.) However, as even Wikipedia says in this instance: "the origins of the Phoenicians are still unknown" ... which is more or less what Glenn Markoe says.by Hermione - Ancient History

Some years ago - was it the early 1990s? - the Cairo Museum suffered an earthquake; several of the antiquities - some of them not as well stored as they might have been - were damaged, and, according to some observers, it took quite some while for matters to be put right. One would hope that the situation has since improved ...by Hermione - Ancient History

Giza's co-ordinates are 29 dg 59' N, 31 dg 08' E. The co-ordinates on my Google Earth screen appear as, say, 29 d 58' 17.39" ... but as I can't find the particular sites mentioned, and don't know my way around the area well enough to be able to spot them, I can't provide any more information, I'm afraid ...by Hermione - Ancient History
Commiserations, teacup ... perhaps someone here will either have, or know where to find, those particular co-ordinates ... (in fact, when I looked more closely at Google Earth, I couldn't find those locations) ...by Hermione - Ancient History
If you've got a fast connection, teacup, you could try Google Earth ; head for Cairo, and then the Sphinx.by Hermione - Ancient History
