Sam, the problem is Jeffries claimed that Jews *controlled and dominated* the slave trade. Nobody denies that some Jews were involved over the many centuries of the African Slave trade - and shame on them - but the people who actually controlled and dominated and *profited* by the trade was the Black African Chiefs who were the suppliers! A fact I'm sure Mr. Jeffries prefers to ignore, alby Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
The kind of Afrocentrism we're talking about has no valid claims.by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
Even the early Egyptologists recognized that the AEs were similar to Modern Egyptians. I recall theories that certain individual AEs were fair skinned or even blond, (usually queens) but none arguing that all AEs were 'white'. At least none that had any credibility in the field!by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
I gather that *everybody* was dark skinned until fairly recently.by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
"But even given the flaws of current Afrocentric writing, it does not change the fact that historically Egyptology has been anything but a Eurocentric treasure hunt. That is a fact. Today's research is still tainted by the attitudes of Victorian Egyptologists who felt that the artifacts of AE belong to them and were their legacy, even though they were from thousands of miles away. It would be more accurate to say she has become a champion of Europe's right to its own heritage. The problem with Afrocentrists is Africa's real history and heritage isn't good enough for them, they have to steal other peoples' history and accomplishments - and then yell 'racist' when you challenge them!by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
The so-called 'American Aboriginies' are supposed to have come from Southeast Asia - from the same population that went to Australia, not directly from Africa, aren't they?by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
"Absolutely! The track record of the First World has been horrendous throughout history. We are still fundamentally unconcerned about genocides such as Darfur," Umm...correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it is either Moslem Africans or Arabs who are doing the murdering in Sudan, isn't it? The second and third world's records are pretty darn horrendous too...butby Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
I agree with you but I have weak stomach, I don't think I could get through any of those works without suffering acute nausea.by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
In fact it wouldn't be at all difficult to prove South American Indians sailed their rafts to Polynesia - all you have to do is find the Polynesian equivelant of L'anse aux Meadows, (or however that's spelled) find some SA artifacts in Polynesia or Polynesian artifacts in SA and your case is proven. Until then however....by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
I'll accept that as a reason But lacking your glandular bias....by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
How can petroglyphs *not* be archaeologically valuable?! This set must at least have artistic value or they wouldn't have been taken if the first place. If these guys were really worried about the safety of the glyphs they'd have contacted the park authorities or the history department of a local college to bring them to offical notice. And driving out at night sure suggests stby Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
Frankly I don't think 'white people' existed ten to twenty thousand years ago - and if they did they weren't living in Europe. Whoever was living in Europe back then wouldn't look much like the folks living there now whatever their skin color, any more than the folks living in East Asia back then look like the ones there now. Immigration, conquest and populationby Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
As several people have explained the fact that civilization arose in the South and not the North has a lot to do with enviromental conditions to wit: domesticable plants and animals. And nothing at all to do with length of settlement.by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
Apparently not. It looks like an interest in Science Fiction goes with an interest in history.by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
Don, Tierra Del Fuego is where the last of the American Aboriginies ended up not necessarily or even probably their landfall. What is this hang up of yours about south to north migrations?by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
I honestly don't understand why 'Native American Groups' are so threatened by the possibility of multiple immigrations from various parts of the world since - as Kenuchelover has pointed out - they are probably descended from *all* the waves of immigrants through assimiliation.by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
I must say I'm surprised that this is the first I've heard of these 'triangles' if they're really as common and obvious as they say.by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
Question: as these 'triangles' seem to like hanging out over major highways and cities are there any multiple witness sightings. Seems to me there should be.by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
You mean out of mudbrick and palm wood? Sure, easy! But you probably meant in the monumental stone style the Egyptians used for temples, still same answer. Of course we could - but bringing massive stone buildings up to code would probably be a nightmare. Come to think of it the same probably goes for mudbrick and palm wood.by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
And I thought 'new math' was bad.by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
Okay, I think I've found the problem. The system wanted me to verify my registration - *But* for some reason the 'from' slot on the email was blank. I very nearly deleted the message as spam!by Roxana Cooper - Ancient History
