The Orientations of the Giza pyramids and associated structures - Erin Nell and Clive Ruggles

Quote

We measured a line of 8 points on the northern edge of Khafre’s causeway, which yield our best estimate of its orientation (azimuth 103° 26´/283° 26´). The discrepancy between this and the figure obtained from 4 points on the southern edge (103° 33´/283° 33´) appears to be due to the poorer state of the latter.

The day I was born the Sun rose on the Giza plateau at an azimuth of 103° 30' on an ideal flat horizon. The refraction of light due to the atmosphere was taken into account. Data from Stellarium.

The mean average rising Sun azimuth of the Fall equinox and the Winter Solstice is 103° 11".
If we find the middle date - time wise between the Fall equinox and the Winter Solstice we will see the Sun rises on a flat horizon at an azimuth of 108° 22'.
