Sylvie Cauville has a fair amount to say on Harsomtous. Here, [
www.google.co.uk] (336) - for example, she explains that he is shown as the moon, and the lunar disk (sorry, the preview doesn't extend to showing more about the context).
He's mentioned several times here, [
www.ifao.egnet.net], as well: e.g., with Hathor, Eye of Re, and Horus (69).
But I can't find anything about comets ...
