I've never been able to work out what gets people so worked up about vampires ...

Slightly off topic: someone was complaining yesterday evening about the problems of bats in a nearby church. Apparently, you can wipe the seats and pews before the service, and make sure they're fine; but then, when the time comes for people to take their places, the situation has, er, deteriorated once more .... Bats in that context are bad news ...
