Maragioglio and Rinaldi did not undertake the task of field checking previous surveys of the dimensions of GIII. They summarized the findings of Perring, Vyse, Petrie and Goyon and thought that the intended shape of GIII was a true pyramid. M&R concluded their discussion of the topic with this observation:
"Lauer (Probleme etc. cit., p. 88) gives as the length of the base side 108 m.

Hi Robin,
I trust Petrie's survey points (with any corrections listed on Ronald Birdsall's site).
Petrie's calculations of the positions and dimensions of structures on the plateau are sometimes, by necessity, based on assumptions. I'm not sure but I suspect that the disagreement about GIII is mainly a result of different conclusions about the construction method used.

Dash's base map matches the Republique Arabe D'Egypt, Ministere de l'Habitat et de la Reconstruction, Survey of Egypt, 1978 topographic maps. The Survey of Egypt maps are very good. Dash's base map also corresponds well to two satellite images. So, Dash's base map appears to be accurate.
Dash's survey points do not match the Survey of Egypt maps nor the two satell

Hello Robin,
Your puzzlement about Dash's work seems justified.
It might be helpful to review the two threads on the topic.
Your original post questioned two statements in the AERA article. From the article:
"Survey points taken by the 2012 Glen Dash Foundation Survey Project, shown in red. The 2012 survey reveals a need to shift southward the Menkaure Pyramid (GIII), temple

Hermione sent me an email informing me of this thread.
There appear to be a number of old posts that are not mine. I believe someone must have gained unauthorized access to my account. I had little interest in or knowledge of hieroglyphics. I did not have the insight to write intelligently about the subject. I certainly did not know anything about the phonetics.
My interest was mainly in t

Greg,
This is a good example of what happens when you jump to conclusion. If you had sought to confirm your understanding of my original post you would have avoided posting an insult.
If others had sought to understand what Don said in the very beginning, they would have been able to have a friendly discussing and inform each other.

Hi Jammer,
That's the point. You are using a modern dictionary to look up an English word. If you read the ancient texts, the meaning is not the same--at least that's how it appears to me.

Hello,
I'm posting this for constructive comments.
ON THE MATTER OF "CULTURE"
Occasionally, I will see a rebuttal that uses the term "culture" as if it is special knowledge. Here are some observations and suggestions.
In Formal Argumentation
Incomplete Argument:
X was not part of the culture.
or
Thre is no evidence of x in the culture.

Hello Martin,
I think it would be helpful if you re-read the two threads you referenced. I re-read every post and concluded that Don was respectfully seeking pertinent information and indicate why. I found his inquiries legitimate and deserving of respect.
