Steak. Peanuts. Cashews. Meatballs (just make a big tub of them and have some toothpicks nearby for them to grab as they pass by).

Since they were finding artifacts buried in the hill, couldn't they fill in these tunnels and dig new ones directly beside the filled in portion and continue this method until the entire hill was fully excavated? This method would keep the hill itself intact.

Some of the worst have been listed, what about the best? IMHO:
Colleen McCullough's 6 part series taking place in Rome:
The First Man in Rome
The Grass Crown
Fortune's Favourites
Caesar's Women
The October Horse
Caesar
All of them are around 1000 pages and really immersive. Very historically accurate and when she takes liberties she justifies them with evid

Yes, this looks like it:
Only I remember it further south and looking at the south-east side. The above photo shows the north-west side.
I don't think this is the same one, but it looks similar.

Holy crap, Don. What do you need 850 Gig for? LOL.
With a HD that big I would suggest you get a program like diskkeeper to run really great defrags. It will also defrag your page file. Its pricey, but I'm sure you can find it for free
CCleaner is free () and really helps keeping your HD and Registry clean.

Jon,
When I was at Giza with Andrew from Guardians in 2000 we were looking for these ramps and found something on the eastern edge of the plateau beside the pyramid that may have been used to loot the casing blocks. It heads right down in the direction of the golf course.
I've lost my pics since then, might you know what I'm talking about and have photos? It looks like it was la

I don't think the violence and sex scenes were over the top at all, nor did I find it particularly inaccurate. I think it did a good job of portraying the Roman mindset towards sex and violence.
What part of the main plot did you find historically inaccurate?
It was nice to see a dirty Rome.

Well, after 22 episodes, its finally over.
What did everyone think?
I personally think its the best show ever to air on TV.

Erectus was in those neck of the woods so I'd expect humans to be around 20,000 BP too.

Why wouldn't we expect them in Britain of they flurished in France and were adapted to cold climates?
Remember the process involved in preserving remains. Some conditions make it easier than others.
Neanderthals may have constructed boats, but we'll only find their stone technology.

Ronald,
Actually the evidence contradicts your statement. The ingredients for life are found throughout space. There is no evidence for early life on earth originating from elsewhere, but there is an abundance of protetins and acids in space that give rise to life. At least Earth-like life.
I don't think the idea is spectacular imagination, it is well within the realm of possibility

There certainly is enough time for this to have occured. Over 10 billion years for a solar system in our area to have been born and destroyed before ours came along. Mind boggling to think that entire histories of other worlds in our neighbourhood could have come and gone long before ours even got its start.

Yeah, I have similar pictures. I tried to bribe a guard but he said there wasn't a ladder inside. Khentkawes is a very interesting character.

Yup, you're right. Thanks for the pic Jon. That gap is on the northern side right? Thats what I thought the pic was showing. Similar erosion.
Off topic, but you wouldn't have pics from inside Khentkawes, would you?

Actually, Jon, the more I look at that photo the more I would agree with you. The erosion on the lower courses of stone on the left mastaba led me to believe the blocks were leaning on Khentkawes' north side. Those photos I linked to don't show the northern side though.
Given that the height of the mastaba on the left matches the height of the mastaba on the right, I think you'

Does this mean that there were two groups of Homo Erectus (or whatever ancestor you want to pick from) 500,000 years ago, and that the HSS line evolved from one and the HSN line evolved from the other?
How dissimilar can two groups be, namely HSS and HSN, when their evolution was only spaced 500,000 years apart?
