It is very strange that I was unable to find a clear overhead image of this pyramid. ... No conspiracy but still extremely curious.

Hi Waggy ... I just have to believe there is a reason for it's present size. However could you offer an opinion on this Google Earth image from overhead of The Step Pyramid. Is it really this out of whack ? Google Earth Image:

Just a curious observation ... 231 + 208 is just one cubit short of the base of The Great Pyramid at 439 cubits. Relevance - unknown. ... but why was the drawing I posted from Waggy's showing a base of 213.309 cubits ? ... and a special note on this observation - this is in a 7:6 ratio (60.07 = 7 and 51.65 = 6) ]

Hi Waggy ... I just went to Google Earth to try and measure this pyramid and although the east-west distance scaled very close to 231 cubits the north-south distance was just under 200 cubits. And well have a look at this Google Earth image and tell me if it is correct ... ... are the walls really this crooked ? If not why is this image so out of whack ? And it actually looks like there are 7

Hi Waggy. I am trying to figure out the height of the 6 levels of The Step Pyramid (we now have these) but also each of the lengths of all 6 levels. I thought I had it all figured out but then I discovered ... see this link to an image posted by you that it appears that the apex was not centered. This image showing the west side is supposed to be 60.07 meters by 51.65 meters or 114.69 cubi

Hi Waggy you state thusly: "On page 24, he would suggest that steps 1 to 3 were intended to be 20 cubits high, 4th step, 19 cubits, 5th step 18 cubits, and 17 cubits for 6th step, for a total of 114 cubits. The Base of final phase P2 he gives as 208 cubits by 231 cubits. "
I have to admit to being pretty pleased with my theory of the height being 114.545 cubits of 20.62 inches (360/2

Sadly almost all the work I did at this website ... is in error as I calculated everything assuming that the apex was centered ... tragically for my theory it is not centered. As they say ... back to the drawing board . I will leave it up as a lesson to be learned ... always triple check your numbers. I also am starting to believe that the steps are not all equal ...
All I can say is that

The listed value for the height ranges from 60 meters to 62.5 meters
University of Memphis has it as ... 60 meters one of several sites that has it as this. I will do a better search for more examples. I have no idea how this was calculated as the top portion is gone.

Hi all I am trying to get the measurements for The Step Pyramid but it seems to be impossible. Perring's drawing gives the base measurements but his a, b, c, d, e, and f points are not labelled. Do we know what they are ?
And then we have this ...
"They report entering the
granite chamber through a small forced aperture,
where they give the interior size of the granite
chamber

By the way I am calling it 3618.034 for height and 5685.482 for base of 175 and 275 cubits of ... wait for it ... 20.67448 inches using 20.62 we get ... 175.46 by 275.73 cubits ... now how likely is that ?

Page 6 of Petrie's book "Meidum"
Meidum is assumed to be the same slope as The Great Pyramid so is 7 by 11 or logically 175 cubits by 275 cubits ... HOWEVER
Height is projected as 3619. This divided by 20.62 is 175.51. So if we want 175 which seems logical we get 3619/175 = 20.68
From the same page average base is 5682 / 20.62 = 275.56 while 5682 / 275 = 20.66
That

And in Egypt ... Quote1550 BC—New Kingdom starts in Ancient Egypt (other date is 1552 BC). c. 1550 BC—Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt starts (other date is 1552 BC). 1550 BC—Ahmose I becomes Pharaoh of Egypt (although only de facto ruler of Upper Egypt)

Hi all.
I am getting just a bit tired of everyone quoting Robert Schoch as if he is the be all and end all of the debate of the age of soil erosion at and on The Great Sphinx in Egypt. This charade started when John Anthony West ( may he rest in peace) was starting to get credit for claiming that the proof of an older Sphinx was in water erosion in his book "Serpent in The Sky" and R

Hi Hermione I won't contact them because sadly I really no longer care. They (mainstream Egyptology) haven't cared for years on getting measurements right so why should I ? I am 74 now and have come to the realization that they just aren't worth the fight. It is enough to know within me that I have got it right.

Here is a quote or extract from The Encyclopedia Britannica:
QuoteTwo of its five extant pyramids date from the 4th dynasty (c. 2575–c. 2465 bce) and were built by King Snefru (reigned 2575–51). The earlier one, because of its peculiar double slope, is variously called the Blunted, Bent, False, or Rhomboidal Pyramid. It represents an early attempt to build a true pyramid, but the initial angle

Hi Hermione. Good answer but it does not answer why, if the same builder built all six of them, why then is the cubit not the same size for all six of them.

Well let's try to answer my question. Why is the cubit not the same for all 6 of these pyramids ? If your argument is that we do not know the sizes of the bases and the heights ... well then may I suggest someone try to make it fit with the same size cubit.

Does anyone else find it odd that the same size cubit IS NOT USED for these 6 pyramids ? If this is not found odd could you post the reason for the different sizes of cubit. Could one not reason the builder would use the same cubit for all structures he is alleged to have built. Why didn't he ?
