From what little there is on the web it seems that no one wants to give The Romans credit for any of their achievements in Phi examples of which I have listed. I have suggested Britannia but it seems many give the nod to Greece. What muddies the water even further is that they were both "conquered" around the same time about 126 BC Here is what one person thinks of The Romans and their math skills. [
www.irishtimes.com] . This website gives a superficial history of the take over of Greece by Rome and on the surface it would seem logical to assume that's where their knowledge of Phi came from but except for one major stretch on The Parthenon (see website and stretch here [
www.goldennumber.net] ) Given this is the one and only example that has ever been put forward and compared to the brilliance of incorporating Phi in Roman architecture it seems suspicious that Academia would choose to believe that The Roman knowledge came from Greece. Is this the scientific method ? Is Archaeology, like Egyptology a Pseudoscience ? It would seem there is no concrete evidence that the knowledge of Phi In Ancient Rome came from Ancient Greece as there are no examples of Phi in their architecture. I have done a bit of research ( not much as data is hard to find for like Egyptologists, Archaeologists don't believe in taking measures and printing them)
From what I have gathered the Greeks stuck to ratios of 12 by 7 and even 13 by 7 and maybe one example of 13 by 8 but for the main part Phi did not exist in Architecture for The Greeks. I have found numerous examples of Phi in Ancient Rome and still no one comments ... very weird indeed but then again Archaeology IS A PSEUDOSCIENCE now isn't it ? The Academic world, and I do use that term very loosely, have totally dispelled any use of Phi in ancient civilization even though I have presented here irrefutable proof that it was used, and used extensively in Ancient Rome. But it is ignored ... probably because like Egyptology ... Archaeology is a Pseudoscience.
