Your diagram shows a square overlaying a circle, it doesn't demonstrate how you started from one shape and then derived the other. It also assumes a priori that the perimeter of the circle and square are equal. Michell demonstrated a good method to square the circle using the 14/11 ratio with his New Jerusalem diagram (using 2 squares/circles representing the Earth and Moon or 11/3). However the key point is to know that the circumference of the circle is equal to that of the square you must have a direct means of measuring the circumference in the first instance, before you can equate it with anything. You would then know that 44 parts circumference equals 7 parts radius or 14 parts diameter, and 44/14 = 22/7. A knowledge of the 22/7 ratio is implicit within the scheme.

This is just another way of saying divide 1296000 by 4 x 11/7 or 44/7 is it not? Once you know this ratio there is no need to invoke a square every time you wish to calculate the circumference, radius or diameter of a circle.
