Contextually... 3150 BCE was more or less the end of a 17,000 year span of lithic cultures in the near east, fashioning stone had become mastered to an extremely high level, where as pottery was quickly made and used... stone represents a luxury the deceased took into the afterlife. My thoughts about the accuracy of the stone vase showcased; Of course it is remarkably perfect, the craftsmanship had to have been accomplished with specialized methods and tools, clearly the size of the cylinder didn't matter. I've seen the Petrie's Museum's collection and the Ashmolean's, I find it remarkable no two cylinders are alike, they don't come in pairs, each a one-off piece, it's the general style - design and shape that catagorizes each piece visually.
