I see that the Waggy's Guide has a brief section on the causeway (p. 55), and also references to it elsewhere.

Anyone concerned with the subject of aperu, work teams, might be interested in the observation in K.V.J. van der Moezel, (2016), Of marks and meaning : a palaeographic, semiotic-cognitive, and comparative analysis of the identity marks from Deir el-Medina ( [scholarlypublications.universiteitleiden.nl] p. 71, PDF 104) that blocks from the causeway of the pyramid complex of Sahure have examples of such crews; one block shows them dragging the pyramidion to the pyramid.

(Abusir XVI: Sahure - The Pyramid Causeway. History and Decoration Program in the Old Kingdom, Tarek El-Awady, might have more illustrations).
