It's been satisfying to see more publications in the past 20 years with Egyptian/Arabic authors. I don't know how difficult it is to get into the universities in Egypt, but I do know that the people themselves seem very interested.

I don't know if they have some sort of guide certification program there -- something that acknowledges the hard work and effort of the local guides who guide tourists around some of the temples and monuments.
