I'll add that the article linked is from 2017, a later article published last year on Tutankhamun's DNA, and those of all his known relatives who have been tested, show them to all have originated in an area stretching from Europe to the Levant. If the macro haplogroup U is included, from which K is derived, then their ancestors could have originated anywhere between Western Europe and Siberia. The H2b that Amunhotep III has aquired from his mother puts his maternal line originating in Europe. In short, they are all "Indo-Europeans" of varying flavours, but mostly, going back about 14,000 years, from "West Eurasia", which sounds a bit like shorthand for the Kurgan hypothesis, maybe.
