The existence of Merer's tech is a miracle of the first order. I'm sure if it had been more directly stated that he was working for Khufu to make his tomb at Giza I'm sure the defense would have been. 'its a Egyptology forgery'. However, there is enough 'wiggle' room to explain away his diary in other ways.
No evidence of any kind will ever convince the fringe that Khufu or the ancient Egyptian had anything to do with building the pyramids. Any number of excuses can be made, denied or ignored.
Some months ago I was discussing this on another forum and the person thought it was very, very, VERY important that the AE left no inscriptions in the Great Pyramid - they had started with no writing - but I showed them the images of none or so cartouches. Since there was no inscriptions they hadn't built them.
Having established that inscriptions must be there. I asked if that was so important why was the fact that the Atlantean or other other lost civilization hadn't left their OWN inscriptions in them?
They flopped around a bit and the final solution was that the high tech folks used inscriptions that we cannot see with our technology but they could with there's.
LOL
