Thanks Hans.

"Lots and lots of people have located Atlantis in lots and lots of places. [en.wikipedia.org]"

Yes but there can only be One place the is the Only best true match.
I list most of the main locations theories here [www.allempires.com] . I'll have to read the Wiki article and add any others to my list.

"Can you show how you shownd that all these earlier proposed locations are wrong and yours is correct?"

Yes many sites can be ruled out because they don't match some of the details of the Atlantis Account including large size, west direction, far distance, highest mountains surrounding plain, large plain, many species of animals including elephants, remains of concentric circles city & civilisation, been "sunk", type of "sinking" catastrophe, etc.
So for example Thera is wrong size, wrong distance, wrong direction (not west of Tyrrhenia etc), no large plain, no highest mountains, not sunken, no explosion in the Account, etc.
Indonesia/Sundaland is wrong direction, etc.
In my papers I try to show how my location has strong matches for most of the details of the Account.
For more details on how other locations are ruled out and how our location matches most of the details see the relevant chapters of my ebook here [www.allempires.com]

"(yours was determined earlier and is also listed)
In 1556 Agustín de Zárate stated that the Americas was Atlantis."

Yes it was a bit depressing to find that some others have already placed Atlantis in more or less the same vicinity. Quite a few of my possible discoveries I found out after someone had already had suggested similar eg Joseph in the 3rd dynasty I found Wyatt and Moller and Hoeh and Palmer already had similar. Atlantis centred in Tiahuanaco others like David Fasold and Jim Allen etc have already suggested it. So it is only fair to give credit to each and everyone.
I listed all the people who have placed Atlantis capital in same area here [www.allempires.com]

"I do like the idea of 10,000 llama powered chariots."

Possible matches of horses in Peru/Bolivia/Andes & South America include:
"Prehistoric" Americas did have horses long before they were reintroduced by Europeans, though I am not sure whether this is only North America or also South America.
There were found horses, camelids, sloths at Pikimachay?
"Skeleton of ancient horse found in Peru".
Vase made in shape of horse (fertility ceremonies)? *
Horse sacrificed, its entrails placed in vase? *
Uros boats called Totora horses?
Horse shoe shape temple Pukara?
Hippocampus/little seahorse? *
There was in Azores a statue of a man on horse pointing west with word cati/cates which means "this way" in Quechua/Inca which suggests a link with Peru.
(* Sorry these few I didn't properly note full details and sources at the time I made rough notes years ago.)
I hadn't yet got around to rewriting the horses match section of my paper so I'll add this provisional reply to the ebook and in future improve it more.
